This week you use your target organization and one other organization of your choice.
For each organization, choose one of the eleven corporate strategies and provide both the definition of the strategy and an example of how it is applied in the organization. Use the sample form as displayed below and in Table 5.4 of the textbook and identify an example other than those provided in the book.

Your Example
e.g., Unrelated Diversification
Adding new, unrelated products or services
Your Portfolio target organization
e.g., Divestiture
Selling a division or part of an organization
Your choice for one other
Remember that there may be multiple strategies that apply to a company’s profile, so expect to see numerous choices. As you prepare your response, review the Revitalizing Seaside Resort video to connect concepts such as PLC, external analysis, and stakeholder support in selecting a viable corporate level strategy. Next week we study how to analyze the strategies and decide which strategy to choose.
Be sure to support your statements with logic and argument and a minimum of four peer-reviewed articles/journals, citing any sources referenced. Post your initial response early and check back often to continue the discussion. Be sure to respond to your peers’ and instructor’s posts as well. Use the CSU Global Library or other online resources to retrieve your scholarly or peer-reviewed articles and journals.
Post an initial, substantive response by Thursday at 11:59 p.m. MT and respond to 2 or more peers with substantive responses by Sunday at 11:59 p.m. MT. A substantive initial post answers the question presented completely and/or asks a thoughtful question pertaining to the topic. Substantive peer responses ask a thoughtful question pertaining to the topic and/or answers a question (in detail) posted by another student or the instructor.
