Keeping your students and their scores in mind, choose an upcoming activity that you will assign to your students. Use the two students at varying levels of English proficiency and reflect in writing on the following, considering the students’ most recent ACCESS 2.0 scores:
What is the activity you will ask your students to do? Be specific and include copies of or links to your resources (handouts, images or photos, graphic organizers, videos, rubrics, etc.).
Based on your students’ (or the sample students’) ACCESS scores, what ideas do you have about adaptations that could be made to your activity to make it accessible and comprehensible for these two ELLs? Remember to consider all language domains (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), and explicitly explain why the adaptations are appropriate for each student.
