Write a well-developed expository essay about STARS. This essay will be five paragraphs; each paragraph will be between 8 – 12 sentences. PARAGRAPH #1: Your introduction will interest the reader, establish your voice, and feature a thesis. It should say something about money, time, or college and you need one short quote. (There is a sample introduction on Canvas.) Also, use the advice from Wyrick, chapter four, “Beginnings and Endings.” In this paragraph, no pronouns, please. This paragraph must have a quote about either time or money.
PARAGRAPH #2: This paragraph will talk about STARS and “general information.” What degrees are served? Which colleges will accept the contract? In this paragraph, no pronouns, please. This paragraph must have one quote from one of the STARS URLs. DO NOT QUOTE TIME OR MONEY IN THIS PARAGRAPH.
PARAGRAPH #3: This paragraph will talk about “the history of STARS.” When was it created? Why was it created? In this paragraph, no pronouns, please. This paragraph must have one quote from one of the STARS URLs. DO NOT QUOTE TIME OR MONEY IN THIS PARAGRAPH.
PARAGRAPH #4: This paragraph will clearly “walk the reader through” the STARS process. (The “you” point of view is okay here–in limited quantities.) This paragraph must have one quote from one of the STARS URLs. DO NOT QUOTE TIME OR MONEY IN THIS PARAGRAPH.
PARAGRAPH #5: This paragraph is the conclusion and you will sensibly and precisely “close down” the essay without repeating. Consider adding a rhetorical question! You may also “personalize” the essay and add some limited “I” point of view. (There is a sample conclusion under Modules.) This paragraph must have a quote about either time or money.
